Our coaching team is second to none, with decades of experience in fitness, strength training, and athletic development. Every coach brings something unique—from ex-military leadership to clinical physiotherapy expertise, to elite strength training and youth coaching backgrounds. Our trainers are not just instructors; they are motivators, educators, and community builders who take pride in celebrating every member’s progress.

David ‘Dai’ Palmer
Raised in the Welsh Valleys with a hill on every doorstep, there was only one way to finish his 6 paper rounds – lots of running! From the Valleys, Dai joined the British Army age 16 and completed 7 operational tours. When on tour, gyms were few and far between so improvising with a can of water and cement blocks was the norm! Whilst serving in the Army, Dai also trained at Bath University to represent Great Britain on the World Circuit in Winter Sports.
After 14yrs, Dai left the Royal Army Physical Training Corps and accepted a position of Head of Physical Education at a London Grammar School which blended his love of fitness with instruction. Around this time Dai completed his first CrossFit workout – and WOW! Despite 20 years of fitness training – he had never experienced such a buzz after a workout.
In 2013 Dai set up his first CrossFit box in London which quickly expanded leading to the birth of Gas Station Fitness and Nutrition, one of the largest independent fitness facilities in the South-East.
Dai passionately believes that everyone can achieve incredible fitness and health – “it’s just about finding the right ‘key’ which unlocks that person’s motivation to become
FITTER • FASTER • STRONGER”.

Lisa Palmer
Lisa met Dai on a bobsleigh track in Austria 9 years ago over an espresso coffee and jaffa cakes. Since they met she has complimented Dai’s passion for fitness with her expertise as a Clinical Specialist Physiotherapist.
Having qualified in 2005 as an undergraduate physiotherapist, she passed her Master’s degree in 2012 at Kings College London with Distinction.
Lisa often runs rehabilitation assessment and advice clinics for our members and works alongside the coaches to ensure that every member gets the most from their training. Gas Station Fitness and Nutrition is the perfect place whether you have a pre-existing injury, medical condition, or sub-optimal performance.

When Lisa isn’t at the gym, she’s managing the administration team, working for the NHS, and looking after their two girls.

At Gas Station Fitness & Nutrition we also allocate a training budget for each member of staff so our team just keeps getting better and better for our clients. Needless to say – with all this experience in our team, our client results are incredible!

Our 3,000 sq. ft. facility is designed for functional training, strength work, and performance-based fitness. With dedicated consultation rooms, a community chill-out area, and three showers and changing rooms, we provide everything you need for a comfortable and motivating training experience. We also foster a social atmosphere, with members often grabbing a coffee at one of the nearby cafés.
